hi I had a left side mastectomy and full auxiliary node clearance 8 days ago now.
Thd drains are a nuisance now and I can’t wait for them to be out. Hopefully today I’ve seen signs of them slowing down so fingers crossed.
I have a question however - my left arm is swollen and I wondered if I should be concerned? Can you have a lipoma this early with drains in?? Obviously I know there’s going to be swelling and aching, the aching is more in my tricep the last few days. I’m doing my exercises and trying not to overdo it although I hate just sitting around all the time.
I consider myself to be well educated in this whole process but you know what it’s like when you have a nagging doubt so I wondered if anyone could advise or had maybe had the same experience?
Thank you
Hi Ok then lets do this
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you were diagnosed with breast cancer and needed a mastectomy. I,suggest that you ring your breast care nurse and tell them about the swollen arm and the pain you are experiencing in your tricep even if it’s just to set your mind at rest.
Wishing you the best of luck with whatever comes next.
Best wishes
