Just starting my journey and feeling completely disoriented from my body. Diagnosed in Jan for DCIS with a mastectomy arranged and then cancelled after another biopsy indicating cancer is lymph nodes, PET scan taken today, CT Scan and MRI feeling totally overwhelmed not knowing or having a treatment plan. Doctor was keen to start Chemo before Mastectomy. Next week meeting with Doctor really felling that I should be starting treatment asap, but trying to remain grounded as my anxiety levels increase. Any advise welcome at this stage
Hi MissT and a very warm welcome to the forum. You are at a horrible stage, waiting for appointments and results as well as having goalposts moved after the biopsy results. Unfortunately there’s no quick fix to how anxious you are feeling other than to try to reassure you that the medics will be gathering all the information they need to devise the best treatment plan for your particular situation. Also I understand that breast cancer is not a rapid spreader but of course the delays are tortuous and beyond frustrating. Haven’t really got any answers but wanted to send love and a big virtual hug your way. You have joined a warm community full of caring people who will be with you during your treatment and beyond. I’m still rattling around here even though it’s over 4 years since my initial treatment. Still popping hormone blockers though. Love and hugs, HFxx
