Hi there,

To introduce myself I am 37 and was diagnosed with Inflammatory breast cancer with 3 lymph nodes involved last September.  I've completed 15 rounds of chemotherapy so far and I'm due a mastectomy with full lymph node clearance tomorrow Tired face which I am terrified about.

I was just wondering if any of you had any hints and tips on recovering from the op and dealing with the mental stress of waiting for the results of surgery?

I've found physically I have coped well so far, tho I do feel like chemo has ages me something terrible, and I'm trying to remain positive but it's getting a little harder to do so these past few weeks.

Thanks x

  • Hey, I’m sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I can’t really help you with your concerns but I’ve recently joined an IBC group on Facebook due to concerns about symptoms that look like IBC (awaiting biopsy results but I have a follow-up appointment at the Breast Clinic in 4 weeks time). It might be worth you joining that group as there are many women going through the same thing as you and will be able to provide advice

    all the best x

  • Hi Gemstone01

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. While recovering from your operation take plenty of rest and don’t do any heavy lifting for at least six weeks. In order to deal with the stress of waiting for results keep yourself busy by doing the things that you love.  Also try to get out for some fresh air everyday even if it’s only for a little while.

Wishing you the best of luck with your operation tomorrow.

    Best wishes

  • Hi Daisy,

Thanks for replying and the good luck wishes.

Wish I could fast forward it but I'll just have to take it easy and rest up over the next few weeks x
