Hi all.
at the age of 37 I was diagnosed with hormonal breast cancer. I had chemo, radio and a lumpectomy. I was also put on tamoxifen for 10 years.
10 years is up this year. I’m slightly anxious to be losing the protection of tamoxifen but realise 10 years is the limit.
I have had classic menopausal symptoms over this time including my periods stopping. However, I’m not sure if this was a ‘fake’ menopause- or will I still have to go through the real thing??
I guess I’m anxious about my hormones bouncing back and the cancer returning.
has anyone else been through this? And is there anything else I can take instead of tamoxifen going forward? I need a bit of reassurance.

Hi, how amazing that you've reached 10 years, that gives me a lot of hope, but I can understand your concerns for sure. I don't see many people in this group after such a long time since diagnosis, but why don't you think about calling the lovely team at Macmillan and talking through your concerns with them.
