I'm into the Royal Marsden  for surgery tomorrow, scared stiff but want to get it over and done with.  small lump. caught early, i have had the magseed pro inserted. A bit sore mainly I'm worried about what to expect tomorrow?

  • Are you having a lumpectomy?

  • Hi Sue, I had magseed done, I had lumpectomy with sentinel lymph node removal Friday, it was fine, I am sore but more under my arm than boob, I am hoping mine was caught early from routine mammogram so awaiting results for that. Went for a little walk today… listen to your body as it has wiped me out… I’m shattered! Good luck on your journey xx

  • hiya

yes i am having a lumpectomy and lymph node removal as Survivor 99 just mentioned, thanks survivor99 that does make me feel a bit better, its such a shock, i had the routine mammogram too and just expected all to be fine !! hey!!

  • Same here Sue … they spoke to me regarding radiotherapy and oestrogen blockers for 5 years but not confirmed as awaiting the results, you’ve got this … best of luck x

  • I had lumpectomy 9th Feb and it was fine, you do get pain from lympe nodes being removed but I did not even need pain killers, make sure you do the excerises as they really help. I did not have stiched but a glue, I think most hospitals use it now.

  • Thank you so much, this is really helpful. Hope you continue to recover well as well

  • Hi. A year ago today I attended the breasy unit at my local hospital for further tests after a lump was found at routine screening. I had 3 biopsies done as I had a shadow as well. This turned out to be stage 2 invasive ductal cancer. I was advised it was caught early and i would not have discovered it myself. 20th April last year i had a lumpectomy and 8 lymph nodes removed. The pain in arm was worse than pain on breast and bruising was spectacular. Post op listen to your body dont push to do the exercises do them at your pace. I was very tired the first week post surgery.

    Hope your surgery goes well.
