Hi found out yesterday I have stage 2 am in total shock I have lots of support but feel so alone
Hi, sorry to hear of your diagnosis. It certainly comes as a shock. I'm pleased you have a lot of support, but experiencing a wide range of emotions is perfectly normal. Take one step at a time. I found it really useful to write down any questions in a notebook, as they occurred to me, so that I didn't forget anything at my appointments. I would also recommend taking someone with you. Sending you my best wishes.
Hi. I would echo what Hilife22 says ... one step at a time is sound advice. Also, I'm not sure how others reacted to their news, but I found that the waiting time for treatment/surgery to start was possibly the most difficult for me. Finding out as much as I could and preparing for surgery, and what I would need for recovery, helped during this time. I also have a great mindfulness distraction activity ... I crochet. So my advice is take each step as it comes, find out what you can, plan for your potential treatment and after it and try to distract yourself the rest of the time.
Take care Xxxx
Hi CSTRACYA
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. It's perfectly understandable that you are feeling shocked and alone despite the support that you have. Only those who have been through a cancer diagnosis can really understand how it feels to be diagnosed with cancer.
One piece of advice I will give you is not to google your type of breast cancer as the information on google is a good five or ten years out of date. Treatments for cancer are improving all the time. If you do want to know about your type of breast cancer and about what treatments are available rely on sites such as this one and Breast Cancer now for your information.
Also know that while you are a member of this community you are not alone as we all understand what's it's like to be diagnosed with breast cancer.
Wishing you the best of luck with whatever treatments your medical team put you on. If you'd like to know about my journey with breast cancer you can click on my name and read about it.
Best wishes
