hey everyone - i just joined today - well i think i actually joined really near the beginning of my diagnosis but it’s been a pretty hellish 6 months of feeling chemo yuk and being entirely unable to pick up my phone let alone write a post. so here i am today/tonight lying in bed 3 days post my double mastectomy with left lymph clearance and feeling so extraordinarily alone - even tho my wife is asleep in the spare room and our three year old son in the next room …and then i thought of you all out there… all these women who share this experience so i thought i’d pick up my ‘pen’ and write to you all. hi. this is all a bit bloody massive isn’t it ? i have no breasts. like some of you i imagine …under these bandages my breasts are no longer and i can’t quite get my head round that …so i thought i’d reach out tonight and try to connect.

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you were diagnosed with breast cancer and needed a double mastectomy and that you are struggling at the moment. It's perfectly understandable that you are finding it hard to get your head around things and that you are feeling alone even though you're not living alone. Just take each day as it comes and give yourself time to grieve for what you have lost because of this illness. Also know that you are not alone, there are plenty of people on this forum who understand and have been through what you have been through.
