This is my first post, had my first chemo session yesterday for HER2 positive breast cancer, feeling very positive, minimal side effects at the moment. Wondering if there is anyone else that has just started their journey ?

  • Hi there, my name is Kelly and I had my first chemo last Friday, also Her2 +. On two types of chemo plus phesgo injections. Will be having surgery after chemo.
I had minimal sleep for 3 days due to the steroids but otherwise was in good spirits. Now sleeping but aching all over today and feeling a bit ‘down’. No sickness or diarrhoea as yet. I’m keeping a track of how it’s affecting me so that I might be able to see a pattern of when I feel crappy or ok for the next time. I have 6 in total, 3 weeks apart, so 5 now to go. Let me know how you get on, good luck xx

  • Hi Kelly, Ive got two cycles of ec left three weeks apart, then I’m going into 12 weekly cycles of paclitaxel, then the phesgo injections, Mastectomy afterwards.

I was shocked at the amount of medication I came home with… made myself a timetable so I don’t forget anything

I hope all goes well with your treatment, stay positive, stay strong xx

  • Hi kelly i had  my first chemo 6 feb and am on the same trajectory as you.

I have had severe acid reflux so would advise you keep an eye on that.

Fatigue is also something that kicks in when you least expect it.

Listen to your body and keep resting yourself

  • Hi, I started chemo on 15 Feb for HER2 positive breast cancer. First few days were fine but day 5 I started going downhill and feeling ill (I think from the Filgrastim injections). They’re making me feel really sick and I have a bad headache a lot of the time. Hoping I start feeling better soon. Hope everyone else is doing ok.

  • Hi day 5 was an issue for me too and I became weepy...hang in There listen to your body and it will pass. Xxx

  • Hi, for me it was Day 4, every time, but really only that one bad day.  Hope you feel a bit better soon

  • Hi, I’m on exactly the same, I asked for the highest dose of anti sickness drugs to take at regular intervals when needed but I take them regularly, also drink loads to flush everything out if your system, hope it helps, also speak to your oncologist about this they will help you, best wishes xx

  • Hi, I’ve changed my anti sickness meds today. I’ve now got Cyclizine tablets. Hopefully they are more effective. Which anti sickness drugs were you given?
