Since my operation and hormone medication and five sessions of radiotherapy I have become very fatigued to the point where it’s becoming difficult to do everyday tasks., I also have severe joint and muscle pain. I realise these are the side affects but wonder if an alternative hormone treatment would be better. Thank you

  • Hi. You don't say how long you have been on Letrozole for. I also has 5 doses of radiotherapy a month after starting on Letrozole.

It took a couple of months before I started to feel less tired. Hopefully you will start to feel better. If not, have a word with your bcn or GP. The brand can also have an impact as individuals sometimes tolerate one brand better than another.

I hope you feel better soon xx

  • Thank you, started Letrozole about six weeks before radiotherapy.

  • Hi I’m new here

took letrozole for 3 months had the same everyside effect there was fatigue was getting worse! Came off them over Christmas and started tamoxifen and my luck exactly the same side effects are as bad getting I can’t do my daily routine just want to lie there !! I’m a really positive person trying to do all the right things excerise ear health food any one else experiencing this or I’m just one of the unlucky ones thanks

  • Hi, I have heard about some people changing brands and finding that this has worked.  Seems weird to me, but it does seem that different manufacturers mix something different with the actual medication and this can make a difference.  Might be worth a discussion with your GP or pharmacy. Best wishes
