Hey,
Found out my diagnosis on Monday that I am triple negative grade 2. I am 38 weeks pregnant & was so convinced up to that point the lump was pregnancy related it has completely blind sighted us. Will be starting 5 months of chemo once baby is born.
Trying to be positive that we wil get through the next half a year & all will be ok but hard to imagine what it is going to look like & how able I will be to look after a newborn. Know everyone seems to react differently to chemo but if there is any advice or words of wisdom you can offer would be greatly appreciated x
Hi MariaL, oh no sorry to hear of your diagnosis and at the same time congratulations on your pregnancy. I can’t imagine what you must be feeling. You are right chemo affects everyone differently and no one can say how you will feel.
Someone told me “you are basically a passenger during treatment so try and focus on the view (the good stuff that surrounds us) and leave the driving and stress to your medical team.” I found this helped me a lot. I try to stay focused on my wonderful family and friends and enjoy every moment. Having a positive outlook also helps even though I know at times it might be hard. There will be up and down times but you will have a beautiful bundle of joy soon to help you stay focused.

Wishing you all the best on your journey and welcoming your new little one into your family.
Lots of love and hugs from cuffcake x x x x x
Hi, oh gosh, I am not surprised you've been blindsided, I can't imagine how you're feeling and I hope you have great support around you. I had treatment throughout 2021 and 5 months of chemo. I blogged throughout, but this one might be helpful as it's all the things I wish I’d known before starting chemo. I hope your baby arrives safely in the coming weeks and that all is well. And don't forget to pop back in here any time you need help, advice or just a safe space to share. Best wishes
Hi cuffcake,
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply & for your kind words. I like the analogy re the passenger and something Im sure I will come back to along the way.
I read your story and wow you have been through so much already but looks like you are nearly there with treatment which is great & hopefully you can soon put this all behind you & concentrate on time with your husband & lovely boys.
Thanks again for the advice xx
Thanks so much Irishgirl16, firstly it is lovely to hear from a fellow "Irish girl" but also thanks so much for directing me to the blog as at the moment really don't know what to expect so really useful to see other peoples experiences.
Thanks again
Likewise, always ice to hear from someone from “home” despite I haven't lived there for many years. Don't hesitate if you have any questions, everyone on here is so supportive.
What a shock for you but good they found this interloper. Hope all goes well with your delivery and chemo. Such a lot to get your head around. Is it your first baby? Hope you got the support you need although they're all reeling from it too at this stage.
I felt lucky that mine was picked up, the Covid jab gave me a sore armpit the lymph node in the arm pit had cancer in it. All cut out with the surgery thankfully. You can this, we have no choice buthe help is there. Great place to ask for positive vibes, support and information.
Thank you Sabrina22. Baby arrived on Monday morning at 3:11am & couldn't be more perfect. I only found out diagnosis last Monday so has been one heck of a week. It is our first & still can't believe he is ours!! Determined to enjoy all this love & emotion just now & can then concentrate on the next step x
