I knew I had breast cancer 16 months before I finally plucked up the courage to something and I was right, I was told I had to start the chemotherapy 2 weeks after my operation but ended up with a severe infection  I'm really scared and don't know what to do, please help

  • Hi Jellyfish, sorry to hear of your diagnosis and that you got a servere infection. Hopefully this has cleared now.
You don’t say if you have started your chemo yet or whether the infection was in your healing wound or some other infection.
A possible side effect from chemo is infection as white  blood cells tend to be low so you can be given blood boosting injections to help prevent this when on chemo.
It would be worth talking with your oncologist and surgeon as they would be able to advise about when the best time is to start chemo and be able to keep an eye on the infection if you still have it.

Wishing you all the best on your journey.
