Hello
Not sure where to start......
Finally got my 82 yo mum to the Dr today with various symptoms, most of which she has been hiding for months even though we live in the same house! Got her to finally admit to a 'problem with the nipple' last week so was therefore horrified (and guilt ridden) to find that she actually has a 5-6cm mass on one breast. She had pre-cancerous cells removed and radiotherapy about 23 years ago in the other breast.
Fortunately we're very lucky to have a small village GP surgery which, although busy, offers speedy and excellent care. So we're off for blood test tomorrow and awaiting a referral which should be 2 weeks but obviously in the current circumstances may be delayed .
That's all for now - I'm sure I'll be back once we know more.
Hi Barney, sorry to hear you and your mum are going through this. Don’t beat yourself up that you didn’t know what was going on. The important thing is that she is being referred and a plan of treatment will be put in place. Do let us know how you get on, there is plenty of support here.
It’s great the referral has been booked so quickly. Sending all best wishes for Tuesday and hoping your mum’s treatment plan starts soon and you feel better that something is happening. Waiting is always so draining.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
