Hi all

I am newly diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Im currently waiting for a date for a lumpectomy then I believe it’s radiotherapy after that. I still feel quite numb and don’t think it’s sunk in yet and just feeling overwhelmed and still in a daze. Xx

  • Hi there, I’m at the same stage as you awaiting lumpectomy date.  It can’t come quick enough, my lump just needs to gone.  I’ve decided to take each stage as it comes and deal with it as it happens.  Time now to rally the troops so help and support available if needed.  I’ve been told radiotherapy and/or chemo.  Not been googling those yet as my head can only cope with so much.  I think it takes a few days to come to terms with the diagnosis then you quickly realise it’s a challenge that you’ve just got to get through.  Wishing you all the very best and hopefully you won’t have to wait too long for your op date.

  • Hi

I found my lump on 6 th December and things have been moving quite fast since then. I saw consultant and had mammogram and ultrasound scan on 14th dec. They knew it was cancer and did a biopsy there and then and a biopsy from under my arm. I had the results on 22 dec and it’s stage 3 invasive ductile carcinoma and it’s spread to the lymph nodes do they re removing all of them as well.

It can’t come quick enough for me I just want it gone. I saw the anaethesist  yesterday as I’m high risk and he agreed to give me an anaesthetic . So I’m just waiting now got someone to get in touch with a date .
The waiting is the worst .

I hope you also get a date soon it sounds like we are both in the same situation xx

  • That’s super fast from finding lump to diagnosis, hopefully the next stage will be just as quick.  I found my lump end of October and it’s taken so long to get to this stage.  As of beginning of December it looked like lymph nodes okay but they will  remove some and biopsy during op   I’m also invasive ductile carcinoma with the added extra of being triple negative.  Not sure on staging, no one has mentioned though they did seem to think found early, 11mm lump.  It’s all a waiting game. I think I have at least one wee cry a day, sometimes you just have to x

  • Hi Purple moon, sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I was diagnosed with grade 3 idc. At the time the lymph nodes looked fine. After my lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy (1 was positive) I had axillary clearance and the found 9 positive nodes. You can read my journey if you like. Hope you get your op date soon along with your treatment plan. The waiting is always the worst. Take each stage as it comes as trying to take it all in at once can be very overwhelming.
Wishing you all the best on your journey.

  • Hi Purple Moon and Ochno

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have both been diagnosed with breast cancer. If I can suggest one thing please stay away from google if you want to know what’s ahead of you both as the information there is often out of date. If you want information about your type of breast cancer rely on sites like this one or breast cancer now as the information on these sites is more up to date.

Wishing you both the best of luck with whatever treatment is ahead of you.

    Best wishes
