Hi been diagnosed with breast cancer
unwel and worried
Hi!
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, I don't have breast cancer but was diagnosed with bowel cancer in September this year so know how worrying the diagnosis is. It's a horrible horrible thing to be told and I know I felt very alone (even though I have a good support network).
I only joined McMillan forum yesterday but have found it very supportive already, with lovely messages from people in the same boat as me.
What have you been told next steps are? x
Hi cupcake 06 sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions here in the group as there's always lots of lovely people around to help and support. Best wishes
Hi cupcake 06, sorry to hear of your diagnosis. It’s natural to feel worried about your diagnosis. By joining the forum there are lots of people on here to help and offer advice. When you know a little more about the type of breast cancer you have if you would like to share there will be others with similar diagnosis who can share their experiences with you. Once a treatment plan is in place this also helps as you will know more about each stage and can take it one step at a time. If you want you can click on people’s names and see if they have added their details about their journeys. You can click on my name to see mine if you wish.
Wishing you all the best on your journey.

Hi
sorry to hear about your diagnosis.i had my surgery last week and waiting for the biopsy results to see if they need to operate again and if I need chemo also need a further CT scan and tests. If they come back ok then I will start radiotherapy..
how are you doing x
I read your story wow thank you for sharing.. Am in the same boat
I had a lump under my arm pit went to see the consultant had mammography ultrasound biopsy Mri scan all on the same day as I was going through my Bupa Insurance Also was told it was suspicious.. I knew this wasnt good.. following week got the results to confirm mine was like yours HER 2 positive Grade 2 that it was the most common one I had booked to go away and consultant said to have holiday. Had a holiday of a life time Singapore Bangkok and phuket came home and had surgery last week lumpectomy and sentinel nodes . Markers came back clear but out of the 3 lymph nodes 1 had just a few cancerous cells no I need CT scan and oncotype DX test done to see what the next step is. This test gets sent to the States and with xmas it wont be till New year when I find out what the next step is.. If the score is below 25 then I will only need Radiotherapy If the scores are higher then another operation chemo and radiotherapy
This has happened all in a month.
just recovering from the operation and my arm hurts you cant see the scar as just under my left arm
Still getting my head around it
will keep you up dated
xx

just waiting for next step x
sorry to hear that how far are you in to your journey ? xx
Hi, sorry you’re having trouble sleeping. Hope you managed to nod off at some point. Best wishes for your recovery
Hi cup cake 06, what a lovely holiday you had it sounds fantastic visiting all those places. I don’t know if my testing went via the states it may be different depending on what is found after surgery. Hope the results don’t take too long to come back, the waiting is the worse. I found after both ops I kept up with the painkillers as I didn’t want to be in pain. Yes my scar is hidden in the arm crease so not noticeable. I have found the exercises help but now with chemo the op side seems to be a little more uncomfortable but that could be a side effect from the drugs. It does wear off. I still am numb under the arm and a strange sensation along the bingo wing since I had the axillary clearance but hopefully this will eventually clear or become so I don’t really notice it. Wishing you all the best for your journey and keep us posted when you have more news on your next stage.
Have a lovely Christmas
