I want to thank those of you who replied to my first mail yesterday. The wait after you get the assessment call back letter is horrendous. I waited for a week and went to the assessment alone thinking maybe it was ok. It would have been much better with a friend as I was there from 9:45 to 3 and close to fainting after all those tests, fear, anxiety, lack of knowledge and crying. The women there were very professional and also very supportive. I live alone and work and hope it will be alright. I expect to get sent an appointment for treatment plan once biopsy results are in. I'm trying to think of this as a positive learning experience, as something that will grow me as a person. I have stronger moments and weaker moments. I don't want this diagnosis to be me, I want to be me and enjoy the present and the beauty of life as much as I can. Like to snowy landscape outside.

  • Glad you found support on this thread.  Click on my name and you will see I'm 7 years down the line from my recall to first routine screening.  Time flies when you having fun Rofl

  • Dear Carol thank you very much. Very good to hear. Happy for you. It is hard not having results yet so no idea what's happening and what will happen in near future.

  • Hi, I'm sorry you find yourself here, but you will find a lot of support. The waiting is difficult. I found it helped me to take a friend along to my appointments. She was really supportive, but also was an extra pair of ears, when I got my diagnosis, so that I didn't miss anything. I also found it really helpful to write down any questions that I had in a notebook before I went in to my appointments and then to write down the answers as they were given. Best of luck with everything.

  • Dear Hilfe22,

Thank you very much. That is good advice. I will take a friend and a notebook. Cheers,

    Kybele

  • Once you get treatment you do feel calmer as you feel that someone is in control and dealing with your issues.  Hopefully you'll get appointment soon.  Don't be alarmed if they ring to see you.  They work quickly and even before postal strikes etc rang with appointments for next day or two xx
