Due to start chemo now postponed

Hi Freda 23 welcome to the forum and I can imagine that you will feel somewhat despondent having been expecting to start chemo and now having this postponed.

That heart of yours needs a thorough checking before chemo as some types of chemo, as far as I am aware, can result in developing  heart issues so it is vital that this is checked out before treatment starts and then a decision can be made as to the best way forward specifically for you.  I know its not what you want to hear but I do believe they are doing the right thing for you.

Like Gail I'd like to welcome you to the forum and say sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer and that your chemo has been postponed due to a irregular shaped heart.  I know what's it's like be expecting to have chemo and then not have it because they've discovered something wrong.  Why not ring your breast care nurse and have a chat with them, that's what they're there for. Rest assured your medical team are doing their very best for you as they need to make sure that the cure isn't worse than the disease.
