Hi all,
Just wanted to join and to say hello and share my story. I was diagnosed with Hert 2 Positive Grade 3, invasive and aggressive breast cancer in May 22. Recently been given the all clear, after 6 rounds of chemo and a mastectomy. I remained so strong, positive and determined during my treatment but after being on a high from receiving the good news I have started to feel quite emotional and mentally exhausted from it all. Struggling with not looking and feeling how I used to and just desperately wanting things to be back to normal, but I know it won't be this way for a long time. Does anyone else feel this way?
Hi Ria, lovely to hear you have come through all that treatment and been given the all clear. Its really, really common to react the way you have - so many of us stay strong during treatment, but once that is all over, it catches up with us. Many of us find this article to be really useful https://www.workingwithcancer.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/After-the-treatment-finishes-then-what.pdf and you might find it helpful to drop into your local Maggies centre too. Breast Cancer now run a Moving Forward course and its definitely worth attending if you can find one near you breastcancernow.org/.../moving-forward-online-course
