Triple positive breast cancer

I have just had a lumpectomy and sentinel node removal and will get results on 12th Dec. I know I need chemo and radiotherapy and will then need tablets. I still feel quite shell-shocked with it all and want to connect with people going through the same experience.

  • Hi Kittyboo2, sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I too was diagnosed with triple positive breast cancer. If you click on my name you can see my journey so far. Yesterday I had my first EC chemo so feel washed out today. Have plenty of tablets to help with side effects and wonderful staff on the hotline number to help with any side effects who can talk you through things. The forum is a great place to find out what others have been experiencing and how they are coping.
Sending you best wishes for your journey and good results on the 12th.

  • Thank you very much for your response and I will look up your, story so far. I'm still learning my way around this site but am so relieved to find the support. X

  • Hi Kittyboo2 , I am triple positive (scoring an 8) on all three so I think that means I am very positive! I too have put my diagnosis in my biog. I started off with chemo first as my tumour was 4cm and it has shrunk enough for lumpectomy which I am due to have on 19th Dec. From my discovery of finding lump and diagnosis to now has been a whirlwind and psychologically I have not come to terms with but I have learned to use the team around you, this site and breast cancer now are great and to take a day at a time and not think too far ahead or try to predict…go with the flow! It is shocking to hear and receive the news. My local support affiliated with hospital is Force..I am not sure where you are based but I believe there are also Maggie Centres too. Wishing you all the best x

  • Thank you for replying LifeslikeThat. I am not thinking beyond the next step and keep saying I'll get over this hurdle then worry about the next. I get the results of nodes and tumour on Monday and will then see what is happening next. We are all in the same boat and I find talking to others very helpful. We all have slightly different paths but we've all got cancer!  I wish you the best for 19th. I've had my surgery and anticipation was worse than the event so you will be fine, just see it as a relief to get the alien out of your body. Accepting our situation is hard and takes time. Thinking of all you others going through this xx

  • Forgot to say I have found a Maggies in Oxford to go to

  • Excellent…I think they will be really helpful. Thanks for kind words…agree anxious about Surgery and results but as you say one hurdle at a time..x
