Just joined this forum. I have breast cancer, I found the lump in March, had clear result from mammogram in December earlier so the lump was small.  Going through Chemo just had treatment 5 of the planned 6. Some rough days, some good, some very low mood. A couple of lymph nodes found positive also. My plan is to have 15 sessions  of radiotherapy after this, rather than surgery as my consultant says  either are equally effective, then I don’t know what happens. It seems like a long hard journey but on  reading other folks stories I feel I am doing okay.

Thanks for being here. We have a Maggies centre near me, they have been very supportive also.

  • Hi Sandy, well done on getting through 5 chemos! I had 6 planned too, but only managed 4! I’d had a mastectomy prior to chemo and radiotherapy, so it’s good that you’re able to keep your boob intact! Wishing you the best of everything and a speedy, successful conclusion to your journey! Well done you! Clap xx

  • Hi Mazz good to hear from you. Sorry I omitted that my boob has gone! I had a mastectomy prior to the chemo( that’s when they found the positive lymph nodes. Seems so long ago and I am quite used to being uni boob. Thanks. Did you have a scan after radiotherapy?

  • No, I’ve not had any scans at all! I hear on this forum that many people do, not sure why I’ve not had any. Sorry I misunderstood your post, I’m used to being uniboob too! I thought it would be a nightmare, but at least it’s not an arm, leg or an eye they’ve taken, that’s my rationale Grin! All the best to you xxxx

  • Hi thanks, I have not been to the forum for a while, I agree with your rationale re the boob loss. When I next speak to my medical team I am going to ask about a scan, I suppose it could be a post code thing! I just worry about how will I know that all this treatment has worked. All the best to you, How are you getting on now? Xx
