Thought it was time to join. Found out I had breast cancer in June. Ended up having a mastectomy and lymph nodes removed in August and I start chemo next week. Not very good at showing emotions I've just taken it in and trying to get on. I was 44 last Wednesday. Xx
Hello Rachel. It's a lot to process isn't it and treatment is so quickly off the ground we don't always have time to understand our emotions. There is no right way to react, some crumble then pull up their big girl knickers, other just get on with it but I think it affects us all mentally and having visual reminders of the trauma can be unsettling.
So saying all that, how are you feeling. This is a lovely supportive group and there will be ladies on the same part of the journey as you are currently plus past patients to offer tips. Have a look around the treatment thread to see if anything useful there for you or just start your own post - try to put something descriptive in heading so it attracts response eg. Chemo next week, tips?
We also have a chatty thread. Talk about anything and everything. Just go to last post, click reply and say hi!! Very friendly, supportive bunch.
