Hello,
My mum has had a double mastectomy (August 2022). Beforehand, in June/July 2021 she had radiotherapy. Her right breast wound has come open due to a seroma. She says that this is not so painful (she's seeing a tissue viability specialist on Thursday) but is really sore under her right arm. We think this is still from the radiotherapy back in 2021. Can anyone suggest anything that could ease her discomfort in this underarm area. Thanks.
Hi, I hope by now that your mum's pain has eased, but if it's still uncomfortable she might want to get it checked out. I have some discomfort from the radiotherapy, which was about a year ago now. I have been diagnosed with Lymphoma and have some exercises to help me. Best wishes
Hello Irishgirl16, Thank you so much for your reply. I do hope that you too find some relief from your radiotherapy burns. I'm looking at HBOT at the moment. Have you heard of it? It's supposed to be quite good but I'm going to do some more research before suggesting it to my mum. It's supposed to help with radiotherapy burns. Thanks.
Hello Irishgirl16,
I don't know a lot about it but am doing some research because it looks quite promising. There's a lot of stuff on the internet but here's a link to one article: Treating Radiation Damage with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (hyperbaricmedicalsolutions.com)
