Lobular cancer and terrifed

Hi everyone I was diagnosed in July and had therapeutic mammoplasty 3 weeks ago. I had to wait so long for surgery. I have now been told that the margins from the excision are not clear and the node biopsy was positive.  I now have to have a mastectomy which probably won’t be until November. I am falling apart with emotion and anxiety and regularly shake and feel sick.  It’s so long between appointments it’s like mental torture and every day I wake up and ask myself has it spread. How does anyone else cope?

  • Hi

    Welcome to the forum.

I see your question has slipped to the second page, so I am just replying as there may be more ladies around now who can give you advice on coping methods they have used.

Mine hadn't spread, so I'm not really in the best position to give advice, but hopefully there will be someone around now who is able to help at the moment.

    Kindest wishes, Lesley

  • Hi Pooch

Welcome to the forum and sorry to year that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer.  Why not ring your BCN and tell them about how anxious you are feeling about the operation and if they can give you any idea when it will be.  In the meantime try and keep yourself busy doing things that you love to take your mind off the operation and when it will be.  Try and get out in the fresh air at least once a day as being outside can help with your mental health.  You could also try a meditation app like Breathe or Calm Radio as meditation can also help with feelings of anxiety.

    Hope this helps you somewhat.

Best wishes and best of luck with the operation when it happens.
