Hi, I'm new to this and not very good at it.
I just wondered how long any of you have had to wait for chemotherapy after breast cancer.
NICE recommend 31 days for the best outcome but I am at 28 days and there are no signs of me being offered it anytime soon.
I find I am very anxious about this and can't seem to get any answers from anybody I have spoken to.
Hi catslove
I had a lumpectomy on 29 April and started my chemotherapy on 30 June which was 9 weeks later. I have to admit that I wasn't aware of any recommended timescale, but the surgeon and oncologist were keen for my wounds to have completely healed before I started chemo.

I had my diagnosis on the 25th October 2022 and started chemo on the 16th January 2023. Seems I started treatment so late.
Triple negative cancer, I’m 42. I am pretty sure I was at stage 2 on diagnosis and it moved to in between 2-3 by the time chemo started. Hospital let me down in that respect.
just finished first cycle, having chemo and immunotherapy and then surgery afterwards
