Hi everyone. I have been on here before but had issues logging into my account (think it was my phone's fault!) so not for a while. I went to the Dr in May this year at 38years old with the tiniest of lumps but many ultrasounds, bioosies, mammograms later I was diagnosed with stage 2 hormone receptive cancer. After the first consultant told me id definitely need a mastectomy, a second opinion offered a therapeutic mammoplasty which I had last month and although it seemed to go well at the time I had to have more surgery yesterday as there weren't clear margins. I'm not so sure yesterday's surgery went too well so waiting for results on the biopsies and an onco dx text so will find out in the next couple of weeks if I need a mastectomy and / or chemo therapy. Even if it's neither which would obviously be great news considering, I hate my new lopsided body especially following yesterday's surgery however shallow and pathetic that sounds considering and had wanted to try for a baby with my partner and was already getting a bit old....at the very least I've been told I'll need hormone treatment which will prevent that for some time if not indefinitely.

I'm not sure if me sharing that helps anyone but it helps me to get it out lol and would like to chat to others who or might be undergoing any of these treats xxx

  • Hello.  You've been through a lot plus you have added stress of effect on fertility.  You should have @n allocated breast care nurse that you can ask all your questions to or you can use MacMillan helpline.  I know there are a few younger ladies on here too.   Maybe start a thread with trying for baby or Fertility as heading and they'll respond xx
