Although born in the UK and in theNHS system, I have not lived in the UK for 20 odd years. I am resident in Germany. German customer/client/patient care is negligable, certainly no Macmillan nurses! Can I join this group and ask questions?
Loads! is the answer. I wanted to first of all establish that although I am in Germany it would be allowed. Basically I have breast cancer which has resulted in a tumour about 20cm wide and 12cm deep under my arm...it's like carrying a book all the time! I work on the "put up and shut up" theory but the dammed thing bleeds profusely from time to time and sheds puss daily. Just wondered if anyone else had the same and if so what they do..... I put absorbant dressings on it every day and put up with the nasty smell!
Hi Brabant
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Are you not receiving any treatment? You shouldn't have to put up with it bleeding and shedding puss daily. While I didn't have as big a tumour as you I thought I'd reply anyway to wish you well.
Hopefully you will get sorted soon.
Best wishes

Yes I am getting treatment: Abemaciclib 50mg twice a day. The trouble is I have to have blood tests every two weeks and when the readings are wrong I can't take the tablets. As soon as I stop taking them, it grows again! According to the doctors here, just put up with bleeding and pus, it is normal! Huh? It is too big to operate and I refused chemo having had that before when I had cervical cancer - not going there again, thank you1 Thanks so much for your good wishes. What treatment did you have. You speak in the past tense so I assume the tumour has gone now.
Cheers Brabant
Hi Brabant
I had 4 cycles of AC and 4 cycles of Taxol and I had an almost complete response, there was just a small bit of cancer left when I had my surgery after finishing chemo. My breast cancer was triple negative. I didn’t have too many side effects mostly fatigue. When did you have cervical cancer if you don’t mind me asking?
