Good morning,

I am new here and new to the whole BC thing... I had a recall from a routine mammogram and wasn't expecting anything other than a repeat one, then 4 hours later I emerged from the clinic having had 2 mammos, an ultrasound, a needle biopsy and a guided vacuum biopsy and 2 markers placed.  Roll on 10 days of wtf was that about and return to the clinic to be told defo have cancer in my right breast and calcium in the left that needs further investigations. So, in 2 days I go back for my second vacuum biopsy on my left breast and once those results are back I can get my surgery plan.   I also had to throw out all my HRT immediately so currently battling the flushes and brain fog and now aches and pains in my joints.

Everything seems very surreal as I have zero symptoms and the lump in my right breast is so small it can't be felt.  So I am at the info gathering stage in limbo which is the worse for me as I like to plan everything as I have a full diary for the next 3 months .. I am a full time PA and a part time cat sitter so the lack of control is driving me bats hahaa.

  • Hi justaperson

Welcome to the forum and sorry to her that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer.  Just a word of warning, whatever you do don't use google to get your information about breast cancer as the data is often out of date.  Rely on sites like this one and Breast Cancer now for your information.  Also don't be surprised if your treatment plan changes after your second vacuum biopsy as that can happen once your medical as all the relevant information to treat you, your treatment is usually tailored to your individual circumstances.

Wishing you the best of luck with your second biopsy and your treatment.

    Best wishes

  • Thank you Daisy, I am taking everything I read or hear with a pinch of salt until I know more (and I suddenly seem to know a lot of people who have been through this journey personally so I am lucky or unlucky in that I seem to have a huge network suddenly of people who are giving me their advice and experience) .  Mostly I am feeling like a fake or think people will think I am a fake as I don't have symptoms or look like I have cancer xx
