This is my first time here… I turned 40 in February, when “live begins” “ best year of your life” ect all those saying people were saying to me. Then in June after finding a lump in the right breast I was diagnosed with breast cancer !
my world fell apart… I felt like my body had let me down !
Many appointments then followed, things really picked up such a pace, I felt I had just handed my body over.
Then 19th July came… surgery day ! I was having mammoplasty. Since surgery I still don’t feel that my diagnosis has really sunk in still, even when I look a my breast now as it’s recovering and healing.
Hi Vic19
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s perfectly understandable that your diagnosis hasn’t sunk in yet even though you’ve had surgery. Everybody reacts differently to a cancer diagnosis, and it can take a while to process everything that you’ve gone through since your diagnosis particularly as you have so many appointments before you even start treatment as your medical team needs as much information about your particular type of breast cancer so that they can give you the right treatment for you.
Just take things a day at a time and if you need to keep posting on here even if it’s just to vent.
Wishing you the best of luck with whatever treatment is next for you.
Best wishes
