Just been diagnosed with Invasive ductal breast cancer, grade 3. So much to take inPensive

  • Hi  and welcome to the club that no one wants to join but is filled with kind and supportive members. I also have grade 3 invasive ductal carcinoma and am due to start chemo next week to.try and shrink it and stop it spreading further before I can have surgery.

There is usually always someone around on here if you need or want to talk, the helpline is also amazing.  Things start to move a little more quickly once you have been diagnosed but you may find you still need more tests etc before they give you a treatment plan.

Just try to keep reminding yourself to take one step at a time, one foot in front of the other and reach out if you need to chat x

  • Currently waiting for a MRI scan and will find out my treatment plan on the 19th August. So much to take inPensive

  • It is a lot and your emotions will be all over the place. Have you tried calling the helpline? I found it really useful to speak to them, just to get all my emotions out x

  • Only found out on Friday so haven't really thought of much yet, don't know where to start really. Will definitely give the helpline a call, thanks for the adviceThumbsup

  • A lot of members have added details to thier profiles about their journey's which may help you to see what may lie ahead. Just remember your cancer is your cancer and your journey is your journey. It might be different to others as you have an entire team (MDT - multi disciplinary team made up of a number of different specialists) looking at your case and all your test results to make a treatment plan bespoke to you so you get the very best care. Happy to chat if you need, I might not get back to you straight away as I have a 2 year old at home and start chemo next week but I will reply as soon as I can xx

  • Thinking of you. I have had all my extra tests and am finding this last weeks wait so difficult. Hoping you can make the waiting go quickly for you.

  • Will definitely add details to my profile.

Thank you so much for responding.

I have a 13yr old daughter and it's been tough having to tell her as we lost my mum 4yrs ago to cancer and she thinks the same is going to happen to me.

I hope everything goes ok with your chemo next week xx

  • Waiting 2 weeks to find out if you have cancer has been tough xx
