Hi,
I was diagnosed with HER2 negative, ER positive on May 13. I will have chemo followed by a lumpectomy, then radiotherapy.
I have had to wait over 2 months to see an Oncologist which will be this Thursday 21st July……has anyone else had to wait this long? As you can imagine, it is making me very anxious.
My neighbour was diagnosed 2 days before me and has already had 4 chemo treatments (privately) which is making me more anxious.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
Chris
Hi, you could ask to speak to your breast care nurse, who will be able to access your records, and she will tell you why. Are you currently on hormone treatment, were you a grade 1 (not the same as stage 1), which is slower growing? I was grade 2, and my oncologist mentioned that grade 1 doesn’t always respond to chemo, because it isn’t growing very fast. Sorry for the questions, but each breast cancer is treated differently, according to the staging, grading and type of breast tumour. X
Hi,
Thanks for your kind and quick reply. When I had a phone consultation with the surgeon at the end of May, not all results had come in. So I don’t yet know what Grade or indeed Stage I’m in. Not on any HRT and am post menopausal.
xx
