I had a Grade 1 breast cancer detected by routine mammogram - I know I'm really lucky, and I don't want to make a fuss! It's hormone receptive, HER2 negative. Had it removed by lumpectomy and sentinal node biopsy 4 days ago. The operation lasted 3 hours as they couldn't find the magseed marker and had to get a radiologist to come and insert a wire during the op. I don't have much pain from the incision site, but am still feeling absolutely exhausted, dizzy and sick most of the time. Can someone reassure me that this is normal?

  • Hi Kalulu

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer.  What you are experiencing is completely normal.  Your body has been through a traumatic event.

    Hopefully you'll feel better soon.

    Best wishes

  • Thank you Daisy53, for the reply, which is reassuring.  I'm never ill and I feel so useless at the moment!

  • Hi Kalulu, I have just had a mastectomy last week and I am exhausted too. It is perfectly normal to feel like this. Your body and mind have been through trauma. Be kind to yourself, take things easy until you have your strength back. Sending you a virtual hug. Jxxx
