Hi,
I'm gojng in for my Lumpectomy on Thursday. I have invasive stage 2 high grade dcis, HERS2 and ER+. My initial plan is surgery followed by radiotherapy with targetted and HERS2 treatment. My nodes will get checked while under. I know if they find something, then i'll get chemo. I keep reading HERS2 needs chemo? I am taking one day at a time and trying to stay positive. I'm also wanting to be prepared as possible.
I've stopped getting the posts up on my emails because my data drained loads and i found myself dwelling on things more. This works better for me but i may not answer as quickly. Thanks.
Hi Spindrift
Im Her2 pos . DIAGNOSED IN 2019 My treatment plan and story on profile . I was told that Herceptin injections to reduce recurrence risk had to be preceded by chemo as N.I.C.E. instruction .
So in short MX .chemo, Herceptin then bisphosphonate infusions .
Should be finished in Nov/Dec.
Things change all the time and I know there is a new drug regime for HER2 + If I was you I’d ask your BCN for a conversation so she can explain things to you .
Everyone will want you to be fully aware and comfortable with plan so will be willing to help
Hi,
Thanks ever so much. Will do.
Good luck with yours.
Hi I was diagnosed a year ago and had a lumpectomy on 2nd August and chemo began in October and ended on 9th February. Because I'm HER2 I started Herceptin injections, the first 3 were given with my chemo. I'm about to have my 11th one on Wednesday and then I have 7 left.
I do think that Herceptin has to be given alongside chemo still.
I started straight away on chemo for ER and HER 2+. EC first chemo x 3 then docetaxyl with herceptin last 3.
lumpectomy then because there were small residual cells left I started on TDM1 which is exemestane and herceptin together for 14 cycles. Completed them all in June and on letrozole and 2 zoledronic acid 6 monthly left x
