Hi I've just joined the group
I was diagnosed with breathing cancer early April and started my chemo 10thvof June it was a terrible shock I'd been a nurse for 38yrs + and had just retired expecting some me time after tough nursing through Covid now I have a long road ahead of 18 week chemo surgery and radiotherapy
Sorry to hear this, you will get through it, it’s all very daunting, I had a mastectomy without construction in January then a full node clearance in March, I’m due my 2nd of 6 chemo next week, every 21 days, then 5 sessions of radiotherapy followed by tamoxifen, once you start the treatment and know the the plan it seems to make it easier even though it is a scary journey, I have tried to take things in my stride and one day at a time, I’m currently dealing with hair loss which has caused me to have a few emotional outbursts, think I’m gonna have to bite the bullet and get rid, I’ve a wig at the ready and scarves for at home, please be kind to yourself and try not to bottle things up, I wish you all the best with your treatment and take care xxx
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
