Hi everyone, so it feels a bit strange being here. I was diagnosed with triple neg breast cancer on Monday and had a gene blood test today. Awaiting a call from the chemo peeps to start next week hopefully.

I joined up to do the July Hula Hoop Challenge for Macmillan a while ago not knowing I was about to need their support myself.

Hope to get to know you all as I'll be having treatment for a year so will be here for support  quite some time.

  • Hi

Welcome to the club no one wants to join and to the forum.

People on here are kind and supportive so no question you have is too daft. Someone is bound to know the answer.

Wishing you all the best with your treatment

    Take care x

  • Hi there,

so sorry you find yourself here, I know how surreal and scary that feels! I can’t offer much guidance myself as I too am only recently diagnosed Stage 1 Grade 3 Triple neg but understand how you will be feeling! I am awaiting my gene results and will have surgery this Friday followed by chemo and radiotherapy. It’s not going to be an easy journey for sure but hopefully we can help each other along the way!
Sending you best wishes and a big hug and just know you will get lots of help and support from everyone here!

    Take care Lou xx

  • Hi, sorry that you are starting the journey that none of us want to take. My cancer is different but I am recently diagnosed so I know how you must be feeling. After many tests I am waiting to hear what my treatment will be.

Still a bit reluctant to join in the threads but everyone is so supportive of each other. It really is comforting at times.

Hope you get to start your treatment next week.

    Best wishes x

  • Hey Lou, sounds like we are in the same boat. I gave blood yesterday and await my gene results too. I see te chemo team on Thursday to get the chemo rolling and a magseed is being inserted into my lump on Monday 4th July. Chemo for me first followed by op then radiation. Sending good vibes and hugs Hugging:-)

  • Thanks for your reply. Really appreciate it. I don't know why I thought I would be one of the ones to never get it but how wrong I was. I'm sending you hugs and positivity and hope your treatment starts very soon. We can do this. Keep in touch  :-)

  • Thanks so much. Never thought I'd end up here but I'm pleased to see it's so supportive. Just what's needed. :-)

  • We will smash this and be stronger for it but it really is a shocker when you hear those words! It sounds like your plan is in place and you will be kicking it’s butt in no time! Can I ask what the magseed is for?  Wishing you lots of luck and let me know how your chemo consultation goes if that’s ok? Big hugs Lou x

  • I thought the same even when I found a lump! Feel like I'm going round in circles at the moment, need more tests but hopefully treatment will start soon.

Sending hugs & lots of luck. Yes please keep in touch, be good to know how your going on x

  • Hi

The mag seed is a marker that they put into the tumour which gives out a signal so the surgeon can localise the tumour during surgery
