  1. Hiya. I am knew to this group. I had a lumpectomy and lymph nodes removal on Friday 13 May. I have been advised that I can't use shower gel and deodorant for at least 6 to 8 weeks. The wounds are both nicely closed and dry. Not being able to shower properly and use deodorant is bringing me down. Does anybody have experience of similar advice and if so what did you use? Sorry it is a very basic question but having looked around on the web I can't find any advice.
  • Hi Le Dellec1968 welcome to the forum. The reason for not using these types of things is because most have chemicals in and not good for your skin. If you can get something like simple soap and simple roll on deodorant I think that should be ok. Xxx

  • I agree… I used small cloth for under arm area and used normal shower gel once wound fully healed. Roll on deodorant. Don’t make same mistake as me.. I had a bath around 6 weeks and had a soak. It weakened my healed scar and opened slightly which I dressed for about a week and healed again
