Hi everyone really new to this so don’t know what I’m doing I have breast cancer too it’s spread to my lungs and also have a fungating tumour which really isn’t nice I can tell you. I’m having my 2nd round of chemo taxol for short think I’m having it for 6 months to try shrink the tumour fingers crossed ey tomorrow round 2 hasn’t been too bad so far bit tired and thirsty but on day 3 had a really bad pain in my leg anybody else had this? Be nice to know thanks xx
Am sorry to hear you have breast caner too. I had some bony aches on taxanes and found heat pads and lighter weight covers on the bed helped me, along with some good pain relief. Did you call your chemo team for advise regarding pain relief? They might be able to issue you something from the chemo unit to help with the pain. Hope the side effects settle quickly for you x
Hi Jenna really sorry to hear that it has spread to your lungs and that you have a fungating tumour also. I have had 4 EC treatments to start with and now I’m on 12 weeks of weekly paclitaxel. I found the first 3 of them not too bad but the pain in my knee joints and back was really sore. I was also thirsty so drink plenty after each session. I had ulcers in my mouth too. I had the 4th one last Friday and this time the fatigue really hit me hard. I also had nosebleeds and bleeding gums for 3 days. Everyone is different and a lot of ladies have had very little side effects. I hope that you you get through this with very little side effects too. Ask your BC nurse for some pain relief if you are finding it is too painful hun. Wishing you all the best. Sending a big hug. Janexxx
Hithanks for your reply I had my 2nd bout of chemo yday up to now feeling good still very thirsty so yes drinking plenty of water, sorry to hear your side affects hopefully they will go soon hopefully I don’t get any more but time will tell sending hugs your way xx
