Hi there, got my last chemo tomorrow then 3 weeks time starting Phesgo. Anyone any experience with just this, as assumed life would be reasonably normal and I could start thinking about holidays. Will there be Side effects, will my hair start growing back . Can you delay treatment by a few days if something planned or is it dead on every 3 weeks without fail.

  • Hi, I personally found Phesgo a breeze after chemo. No side effects at all. I was lucky enough to have treatment at home, and they even came to my office, injected me and I was back at work within half an hour.  My hair started to grow back after chemo and I also had some flexibility around the 3 week cycle. Hope this helps

  • Thank you, that's quite reassuring. And knowing you were back at work too, feeling more positive.  Thanks

  • Hi,

I am having Phesgo every three weeks (for a year), initially along with my weekly Paclitaxel (x 12) and have had four lots of Phesgo now and 11 weeks of Paclitaxel.

I had a bigger dose of Phesgo on week one and I did have some joint pain about 48 hours after this, but no pain at all at the injection site.  For the following three I have had a smaller dose with no follow up pain at all .  I haven’t experienced any different side effects on the weeks I have Phesgo to the ones I don’t so am blaming all my side effects on the Paclitaxel!  I have my first Phesgo without chemo the week after next so I will know for sure then and can let you know.

I had 3x 3 weekly EC first and lost my hair about 3 weeks in.  To my surprise it started growing back about 5 weeks ago even though I am still having chemo so I am hoping it will continue growing when I am having Phesgo on its own.

Congratulations on the end of your Chemo,

    Tis x
