Hi
I was diagnosed last week. Grade 3 triple negative breast cancer. I have my bone scan, mri and ct scan all booked for this week and hopefully I will get the results next Friday. The waiting is what I'm finding the hardest, I just want to get started with treatment. I am trying to stay positive but the worry around if it has spread is making me so scared.
Hi Kayrae
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with Grade 3 triple negative breast cancer. It's perfectly understandable that you are scared that it has spread. The hardest part of the process is waiting on results of scans, but they do these scans so that they can find out how the disease is progressing. That then means that they can give you the best treatment for your type of breast cancer.
I was diagnosed with Grade 3 triple negative breast cancer in September 2020. I had tumours in both my left breast and under my left arm. I had Chemo first, then surgery and radiotherapy. I am now cancer free and have been for over a year.
Once you have a treatment plan in place things should start to look up. Your medical team will do everything in their power to make sure that you come out the other side of this.
Wishing you the best of luck with your scans and with whatever treatments your oncologist decides to put you on and if you have any questions about any aspect of your treatment please don't hesitate to ask. There are plenty of ladies on here who have or have had triple negative and they will be only too happy to answer them if they can as will i.
Best wishes

Hello Kayrae
I understand about waiting and scans and worrying about it spreading. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and positive for nodes 4 weeks ago. I've had a CT scan and been advised no concerns. Was relieved but then advised that I need a bone scan. It's on Tuesday so more worrying. I've been told ER + but don't know if HER + or Pr + or whether ductal or lobular. Seeing consultant for 1st time a week today. I think once that appt comes and I get a plan I hope to be less worried. It feels like I was diagnosed a lot longer than 4 weeks ago. Some days I cope better than others. Trying to be positive, normal and do enjoyable activities and keep busy isn't easy but I try.
Hooe you get clear scans and start treatment.
Take care

Hi stripey
Thanks for your message. It's the worrying and waiting that's the hardest part. I know I will feel better once I have a plan. Its the not knowing that's driving me crazy xx
HI Kayrae
The waiting is awful. Others say the waiting is the worst. I just want to get treatment started ASAP. It's been 4 weeks since diagnosis for me. I'd say that mentally I've felt better as the days have passed. I have spells where I really worry but they have got less than during the first 2/3 weeks. The good thing is that your hospital seem to be moving quickly so looks like you might not have a long wait before getting a plan and treatment.
Fingers crossed for clear scans.
Best wishes
