I am 66 and was diagnosed 4 weeks ago following a routine mammogram. I had a small lump deep in my left breast and had a lumpectomy yesterday. I’m feeling fine and am so impressed by the wonderful care I have had from the NHS. I’m joining this group to share experiences as I’m only at the start of this journey. I am also a full time carer for my husband who has physical disabilities, vascular dementia and can do nothing for himself. We have had a stressful time arranging for carers to come in and look after him while I am out of action. I have support during the day from my daughters who are staying with us for now, so I feel very fortunate. I look forward to sharing thoughts and experiences with others in similar situations.
