Hello
i was diagnosed with breast cancer mid February & had surgery mid March. Since then I have had 1 course of Chemo 2 weeks ago.
I am now asking do I really want to feel this poorly for the next 3-4 months
At the moment I feel very emotional & the depression comes in waves
Hi Thimbles
I’m sorry to hear you are feeling so poorly at the moment; trust me it does get better! ️
Your first session is usually the worse as they have to get the dose right; it may need lowering. Have you spoken to your chemo team at the hospital, they are a good point of contact for help and support in managing any side effects you might be suffering from.
Stick with it, it does get better; hope you start to feel better soon ️ xxx
Hi, my first experience of chemo was definitely more difficult than the others. As Clarissa has said, it is a good idea to speak to your medical team and see how they can help with side effects. I know I should have taken the anti sickness meds before I actually felt sick, and I did that the next time and felt much better. I also pushed myself to get out and walk every day, even when I felt really down, and I am sure that helped me to cope. Good luck
