Hi, odd time to join but I have just finished my radiotherapy yesterday, sore and pink boob, glad it is finished. Though my emotional self is battered as well
Some people join even before diagnosis, at the initial investigations stage, some join after all treatment is finished, some join somwhere in between, each one of us first posted when we felt like it, and at some point I saw someone joining years after cancer, specifically to offer a long-term view of something. A lot of people read the forum but never post. It's a little like a glass of water next to a meal; you take a sip whenever you feel like it.
Did they say when the pink and sore can be expected to get better or go away completely?
Good they caught it early. About moisturising, there are some good posts here regarding products people use that they find helpful. I never had radiotherapy so I have no experience there, but I find vitamin E oil very helpful with skin, and after surgery I was told by my surgeon, once she removed the dressings, to apply it liberally and rub it in. I'd check with clinical oncology before applying anything new, but if the breast is still sore it may be worth looking into.
I like the way you described the emotional side in your opening post; I think, "battered," describes it well for a lot of us here, even when the emotions vary a lot from one person to another.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
