Hi All,

This is all so new.  I found a small lump on the side of my right breaat just over 2 weeks ago.  Referred to the breast clinic and had the appointment for a mammogram and ultrasound on Tuesday just gone.  After a lot of sitting around flowing a biopsy I saw a consultant.  As soon as I sat down he said "it is not good news, we are looking at worst case".  I did ask him how he was so sure due to only just having the biopsy and apparently he was able to tell by the scan photos and what the scans had been graded at.  Mine were a 5.  He showed me on the scan this black area with some splatter is how he described it.

Now the MRI is booked for this sunday then another appointment on the 19th April.

I do not feel like it is real.  I feel devastated but have not cried.  Is this normal?

  • I don't like the way he phrased it. When I hear, "wrost case," I think of something that is far worse than a strong suspicion of a localised small tumour. To put things into perspective, while they can indeed gain insight from scans, you are right in pointing out that they cannot know for sure until the pathology results are back.

As for how you are feeling, I have seen many posts here expressing what you are saying, so there will be many people here who know what you are going through and will be here to offer support and help both during this period of waiting for results, and later on, should the pathology report say it is indeed breast cancer.

  • Hello Maggiemoo I've just read in your own information that you've had a left side mastectomy  3 weeks ago and you have your treatment plan..so I'm sorry this is an old post . How are you doing now, have you started any treatment yet. Or is this a scan you've had following your mastectomy..x

  • Sorry there must be someone else with the same name.  No mastectomy

  • It's when you click on your name, so it's just your info people see when they click on the wee square by your name. X

  • Hi Maggiemoo

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you likely have breast cancer.

Best of luck with your MRI on Sunday and with your follow up appointment.

    Best wishes
