Hello - just got confirmation that the thickening in my left breast is a 6cm ductal cancer - oestrogen receptive. Still waiting on results to see if it is Her - receptive. Surgeon arranging urgent CT scan for me and follow up appointment two weeks today - where hopefully - CT results and Her pathology results will be available so they can let me know what my treatment plan will be. Surgeon has said it will likely involve surgery/chemo, radiotherapy and hormone treatment (Tamoxiflen??) but not sure if chemo or surgery first. I am 46, married with 2 kids - will be keeping my diagnosis from them until I have treatment plan in place. Just wanted to say "Hi" as been lurking on here for a few weeks after finding "Humphrey" and just knowing it was cancer

  • I couldn’t scroll past without saying hi! Also recently diagnosed and have 2 kids. It’s such a lot to get your head around isn’t it. Really hope all goes as well as it can with your CT scan and that ‘Humphrey’ is evicted very soon! X

  • Hello lovely,

Sending you lots of love and hugs.

    How are you feeling?

Im new too. First posted last night after also lurking for a while Rofl

I have more results tomorrow, I have confirmed DCIS cells behind my right nipple and metastatic cells in at least one lymph node, hoping to find out about my suggested treatment plan and to see how the cells responded to hormones etc.

Im also in my early 40s with 2 children under 10.......

Having good days and bad days. Yesterday and this morning were bad, this afternoon feels brighter. Just riding the waves and thinking of the next half an hour...... Tea party with the kids

  • Hi Watcherbee - thanks for saying Hello - it is tough to get to grips with it all and in the meantime life goes on - My son is 14 and my daughter 10 - due in from school any minute and will ask whats for tea - just want to know what I am facing (op then chemo or chemo then op) and tackle it

  • Really hope you have a plan put in place soon.

I’ve told my 2 as they are late teens but I’d have waited too if they’d been younger. I’m savouring every minute of everyday motherhood and to be honest they’re probably enjoying me saying yes to  every snack or lift etc. Always happy to chat. X

  • Glad you’re feeling brighter this afternoon. The emotions are exhausting aren’t they. All the very best for your results tomorrow and hope you’ll get told your treatment plan. X
