Hi. I have just been diagnosed with male breast cancer and wondered if there were any other men on the forum. Like all newly diagnosed I am frightened and anxious.
Hi Saintdegus I've been using this forum for quite some time and I must admit I don't recall seeing any posts from any men, at least not that were obvious. New diagnosis is frightening indeed, though I must admit I found things a little easier when I had a clear treatment plan, at least then I knew what I was dealing with. I also used the Macmillan chat function and helpline a few times, this was a great support for me to ask questions and get some reassurance. Good luck
There is definitely a recent post from a male. Will try to find it for you. Jo x
Hi Saintdegus, welcome to the forum. This is the recent post from a man with breast cancer https://community.macmillan.org.uk/cancer_types/chat-breast-cancer/f/breast-cancer-forum/236346/blokes-with-breast-cancer/1708417#1708417 Hope it helps and there are some links there you might find useful. . It is a very treatable cancer and its normal to feel frightened and anxious to begin with. As far as I am concerned, this forum is for people with breast cancer, so feel free to ask any questions you have or for advice - we'll do our best to help. Its quite a steep learning curve to begin with, but you will feel better once you get your treatment plan and when treatment starts. Good luck x
Thanks so much for the link. I have left a message and hope to hear soon
Just found Blokes with Breast Cancer from about 14 days ago. Can see someone else has found the link for you. Jo x
I also asked one of the other community champions and they suggested going onto the home page of the site and typing male breast cancer into the search tool at the top. I just tried this and a fair number of posts came up, some quite old, but a few more recent, so this might also help you to establish a network.
