  • On the BRCA1, were you offerred any preventative surgeries or a referral to a geneticist?

Also, your children are entitled to be tested for this gene if they want to, this would be arranged through their GPs.

  • Hi lolly6666, I've enjoyed reading your story as it really gives hope to us just starting our journey, thats 27 years cancer free which is amazing. I'm 51 and I pray mine doesn't come one back. Stories like this gives me real hope, I'll be finished chemo next Thursday then I get radiotherapy and then put on Tamoxifen ..Good luck sorry didn't have same op as you. I had lumpectomy for grade 3 DCIS  Xx

  • Hi Greycats yes I’ve been offered further preventative surgery and the geneticist team are in touch with me they said my children can be tested but thank you anyway

  • Hi Deeds, it’s always sad reading so many of us are going through all different types of cancer, all the very best with your treatment, I had Tamoxifen for a year but my body didn’t like it lol so I stopped taking it, yes if I can now go another 20 years without it coming back that would be wonderful just keep positive all the time
