Hi.just been diagnosed grade 2. Stage not known I dont believe until after lumpectomy? As they also need to take sentinel lymph nodes to assess.

We all have a waiting game ..for each step. So a step at a time it is.

We all have to fight it with everything we have x

  • Hi Zane. I am sorry to read about your diagnosis. I'm in the same boat. I was diagnosed on Wednesday with grade 1 IDC, ER+ but still waiting on the HER2 results.

I had gone in with a cyst in my right breast, but they found the cancer during the course of scans in my left breast, so whilst I am devastated by the results I am really thankful that they seem to have found it pretty early. You can't feel it at the moment as it's only about 1cm in size, so tiny in comparison to lot of other folks.

I have my lumpectomy booked for the beginning of May with them wanting to take a couple of lymph nodes from my armpit too. Then hopefully all I will need is some radiotherapy and 5 years of Tamoxifen, but obviously that could change as a result of the HER2 results or what they find when they do the analysis on the cancer that they remove.

I'm still processing the information from Wednesday and coming to terms with the mountain of reading I have done since getting my diagnosis.

I take it you are premonopause due to tamoxifen. I am postmenopausal so wil be a different drug.
