I started my chemotherapy last Thursday and today my hands are so itchy it is unbelievable! I also have a very sore mouth. I’m on Docexatal and a herceptin injection. Do things get much worse?
Hi I was on docetaxyl after my first 3 chemos. I didn’t have many side effects or itchy hands but corners of my mouth were red sore and dry. An antihistamine may help the itch but there is the chemo line you could phone for advice. Hope it eases for you soon , it must be so annoying x
That’s good you have been given something. Each infusion might get bit different for you but you will learn very quickly how your body will react after each dose and you can be prepared if there’s any side effects that are bothersome. I suffered very bad with constipation at start of chemo but soon learned to start my laxatives 2 days before chemo and few days after, it helped a lot. Everyone is different how they react to their treatment even if it’s the same as yours. Just pop your questions on here and someone should be able to help x
