Exemerstane treatment

Hi, IV recently started Exemerstane after trying Anastrozole, side effects were awful. Either that or it's because I'm on Hydroxychloriquine for possible Sjrogens or Rheumatoid, loads of tests, biopsies & still waiting for results. Just wondered how others are dealing with side effects of Exemerstane & do they ease off/get better, or worse. Joint pain is beginning to get worse, just hoping I can cope better this time. Shortness of breathe & chest pains was the reason I stopped taking the Anastrazole. IV not had the chest issue this time, yet, anyway, so fingers crossed.

Side effects do tend to settle in about 6 months. I haven't been too bad on exemestane but the sore feet/joints have settled well other than wrists.

I have tried 2 brands which have been OK but was given a 3rd in Jan and side effects were horrible so I have now asked not to get that one.

Might be worth keeping a note of side effects on different brands

Hi I’m having a break from letrozole as joint pain awful. I will go on exemestane if letrozole side effects go away !

Hiya beatthebreast,, thanks for advice, I do need to stick at it for a few months. Some days are better than others. The joint pain isn't so bad this time & IV not had the shortness of breath yet. Fingers crossed the side effects on this one aren't as bad as the Anastrozole. I really don't want to start all over with another brand x
