Hello. I'm 51 have and just finished radiotherapy for my second diagnosis of breast cancer. I was first diagnosed at 48 in my right breast stage 2 invasive ER+. I took Tamoxifen for 3 years but couldn't cope with the side effects and came off it 4 weeks before my 2nd diagnosis. I then was diagnosed for a 2nd time last October in the left breast just with high grade DCIS this time. It was more of a shock this time than last to be honest; I really didn't think I would get cancer again. I'm currently waiting to see Genetics, as my surgeon said it was not common for someone of my age to be in this position; not sure if they are going to offer me a test or not.
I'm really worried for the future as I have now had radio to my chest twice and that it will cause me problems in the future.
Thanks.
