Had it fixed in my mind that I was going for masectomy and reconstruction using fat from my belly. Met with consultant today where I found out that in Scotland due to covid there is an age restriction ( age 60.). I am 69 and meet all critetia except age. Consultant going to put me forward with a covering email pushing for me to have surgery if I am happy to do so as I meet all other criteria. Now have to get head around perhaps having masectomy with implant and using back muscle to support implant which has higher risk of infection due to previous radiotherapy on same breast. If that doesn't work then revert to masectomy and prosthesis which I really didn't want. Meet again on Monday for discussion and decision time. Am getting to the stage where I just want it gone and get on with my life. I'm sure tomorrow I will be my usual optimistic self.
