Hello
I got diagnosed with lobular breast cancer and had a lumpectomy and lymph node removal in December. I'm starting chemotherapy next Wednesday for 18 weeks then radiotherapy after that. I've been reading all the Macmillan books for advice and information. No one in my family (not even cousins) have had breast cancer. I have good friends and they have been very supportive. I must admit I'm a bit worried about my hair falling out and skin problems. I am going to try the cold cap, I'm going for a pre assessment on Monday and they are going to go through everything in detail ready for Wednesday hopefully it will help with me being quite anxious about the treatment.
Hi, Louise here, just to say hello and I wish you well through your journey. We are all here together, this is a wonderful place to find friends who help you with questions you might need help with in preparation of your treatment, we listen and have big hearts, holding each other’s hands along the road. I was diagnosed with Anal cancer on the 10th January start my treatment on the 21st February.
i found this web sight and I can honestly say it has helped me understand and know I’m not alone, the people you will meet will be there for you from the beginning right through to the end of your treatment. I honestly don’t know what I would do without MacMillian.
Through this web sight I have come to accept everything, and I’m very calm about everything just now, it’s this web page and the wonderful people that have been there for me with all my worries and concerns that has helped me to were I am now.
Best wishes Louise xxx
Hi Tanpep2
Welcome and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. it's perfectly understandable to be anxious before starting treatment but things should start to feel better once you know what you are facing. You'll find plenty of support here so don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have.
Best of luck with your pre assessment on Monday and with your treatment.
Best wishes
